MARINA DI RAGUSA
Marina di Ragusa is a small hamlet of Ragusa and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea in the southeast area of Sicily. Born as an ancient fisherman's village, today it is a very popular tourist centre thanks to the typical Mediterranean climate and the many renowned beach resorts characterised by equipped and golden sandy beaches.
The area of Val di Noto, in the southeast part of Sicily, is rich in beautiful landscapes, among which the Natural Reserve of Irminio river, as well as in baroque style monuments and archaeological findings, such as the acropolis of Ragusa Ibla. Other close important sights are Santa Croce Camerina, Donnalucata and Scicli and Punta Secca, which has become famous thanks to the Italian TV series 'Il commissario Montalbano'. The seafront Andrea Doria offers a 2 km cycle and pedestrian path with lots of bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlors to taste the traditional sicilian cuisine. Beaches are free or even equipped with many facilities; beyond the tourist port there are also rocky beaches which are less crowded.
